It is incredible to believe that in 1801 Middlesbrough was a small farm with a population of just 25. It was during the latter half of the 19th century that it experienced rapid growth. Famous for its industrial heritage it continues to undergo major regeneration. Middlesbrough features two famous bridges, namely the Transporter Bridge and the Tees Newport Bridge with the town centre incorporating many buildings of architectural interest including Middlesbrough Town Hall and in the suburb of Acklam the recently refurbished Acklam Hall.
